This video was taken in October 2011.
Setup:
210g Tank
3 External Filters (500gph each)
Diet: New Life Spectrum 2mm sinking pellets 2x/day
Barebottom tank only / no gravel.
Average age per ranchu: 1yr 4months
80% Water Changes 2x/week
WHY 80%? ~ waste get's diluted in the water which can create pathogens that causes parasitic, bacterial & fungal infections. I replenish 80% water to maintain quality. REMEMBER: Nitrifying Bacteria is not FREE FLOATING. They adhere to surfaces in your tank and to your filter media. So removing 80% water does not affect a cycled tank or kill nitrifying bacteria.

  • huntawunta,

Have you put your baby Ranchus up for sale. let me know, I certainly like to get more Ranchus. Ranchus are like potato chips, can't just have one.

  • @itqnguyen Hi, thanks for your inquiry. I'm still grooming & culling to get the best of the lot. Will definitely start posting update videos as they grow and let you know when they are ready for sale.

  • You should run an aquarium shop :)

  • @acytoh The calico ranchus did spawn 2x this month. There are about 700+ baby fry. I'm in the process of culling. If all works well, I'll put them up for sale. Stay tuned.

  • Are they all ranchu? do they grow faster than other goldfish ? :)

  • @acytoh They are all ranchu, yes. All goldfish types will grow steadily with proper filtration, quality food & frequent water changes. Read the video description for more info.

  • wow my goldfish are about a year old and they are puny compared to yours.

  • @huntawunta lol wow nice

  • @Turtles504 I really have no clue how much bigger they're gonna get. The biggest calico, the red ranchu & that huge black one have actually gotten bigger since I filmed this video. Thanks for checking out the vid!

  • @samuelwaynefoleyjr LOL. Not really. They're just big boned ;))
