The three large engines in Hall 5 (and Hall 4) are all running after a fashion. The 6VE still has some fuel problems and 3 and 5 injectors require replacement.

The 3S47 Allen is running well and just waiting for exhaust and water.

The 6S37 Allen is now complete with just some minor tweaking needed.

These engines and their building are the result of the generosity of a large number of people and companies who have donated time and effort to the project. Thanks to everybody who has helped!

  • What kind of compressor you use to get that 300psi aka. ~20bar?

  • @KillerJoeFIN Several. Lister ST diesel with single cylinder Bristol 2 stage (5 cu m/h), Petter PH2 with V twin three stage (15 cu m/h) and just installing a PJ2/Hamworthy set rated 22 cu m/h.

Also several three phase electric compressor sets dotted around the place for emergencies.

  • How museum riemu supply is maded? One big tank at outside and pipeline tof engines? Most of museum engines run on diesel and i think they need a good flow of diesel so big tank is needed even running them all day long without load

  • @KillerJoeFIN Know what you mean about the edit button!

All the engines use their original day tanks as we try to set them up as they would have been when working. There are ring mains for air, and fuel for most of the buildings so that the day tanks can be filled easily. Just in the middle of doing a new compressor room as we have 45 cubic metres of air tanks to get to 300 psi on full running days.

  • What would these engines be used for?

  • I love the open exhaust sound on the 3 cylinder. Great collection you guys have!

  • cool!!

  • @vrmmarine Don't get the time to play. Just had another day on it while things are quiet and gone through the timing from scratch. The bore wear on 4,5 and 6 is a good part of the problem, with new rings fitted the compression is not good - have to hope with some running they will bed a bit but the long term solution is six new liners :-(

  • still fighting withe the 6ve!, but, its'running!!

  • And one spelling error yet... To the engines... Sorry for this. My client doesnt have edit button

  • I mean fuel supply... Damn this mobile YouTube client... No edit button
