The comedy is that it challenges what is mechanical human nature, a passive expectation if you will that input A should always give you output B.

I give you a dollar and I get my ice cream. You sit next to me on the train, and you don't talk to me unless you have a good reason.

When people challenge that notion, it's interesting to see the reactions.
