When put in service in 1962, "SS France" was the longest ocean liner with a total length of 316 meters! This record remained unchallenged until 2004 when she was topped by "Queen Mary 2". In 1979 she was sold to Norway where she was eventually renamed to "SS Norway".
The model (scale 1/200) is build from scratch by our club member Gerold Brunner, who already constructed "HMS Queen Elizabeth 2". The outcome is another breath taking model build in such detail, it is hard to tell the difference between the small and the full size!

How do you make these

@Cbomb1997 Uuh! Not an easy question to be answered with a few words ;-). Merely it is constructed fairly similar to a real boat where you start with a vertical frame, then the planking is added and finally you do the superstructures. Everything combined with a lot of investigation on plans and photos from the original and quite a bit of experiance you might achieve such a model.
There are quite good books available on modeling topics. Check it out in Internet!

Very graceful model, the music you've used is an excellent match, well done.
What a joy it must be, launching from your raise pond.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, it is always very impressive to watch the great models from Gerold. And as he is doing all of them in the same scale (1/200) it is even more stunning when he shows his entire fleet together.
