TRIBUTE of One of my favourite violonist Ginette Neveu, french violonist, (1919-1949) plays Beethoven Violin Concerto in D, opus 61.
Southwest German Radio Orchestra (Baden-Baden) conducted by Hans Rosbaud.
I. Allegro ma non troppo
Live recording in September 1949, one month later: on the evening of the 28th of October 1949 Ginette Neveu, with her brother Jean Neveu as accompanist, left on board a Constellation bound for America. Hours later it crashed in the Azores; there were NO survivors...

  • Where is her violin today?

  • @olivleonardo ah! good question... its box was found after the crash so they suppose the violin had no damage, then they opened the box and find nothing! the box was empty! A few months later in Paris, they talked about a violonist who has an extraordinary sound, they say he played in Pubs with a black violin. The Police expected this violin was Neveu's, when the Police arrived in the pub, the violonist had disapeard... he was probably the man who stoll the violin. Today, it still not found

  • Everybody plays it equally nowadays. This performance is unique and beautiful, a must-have and a miracle.

  • wondeful.

    i hate to fly.

  • @jozefsterkens The bow of her violin was intact. Some people says that the soul of a violinist is in the bow. In this case, I want to believe that it is true.

  • quelles nuances et un vibrato émouvant

  • Thank you so much for posting Neveu's interpretation of the Beethoven ... for me too she is a great favourite.
