People have obviously forgotten about Triangulation. Your distance from an antenna can be measured. Measuring your distance from three antennas will pinpoint your exact location.

THEY already know where you are and where you're going, with GPS, it's just easier.

(By the way, if you're in the USA, they can listen to your phone conversations as well, thanks to the Patriot Act.)

Uh I would be very upset if I am shopping or even eating and my cell phone did this I am already angered that I am getting these stupid calls now aout the warrenty on MY car is about ready to expire and that stop calling option has NOT worked in fact it's worse so heck no they can keep that crap away from me or I will go after them for it...Ugh, it's like I am being tracked by my parents and I am an adult...grrrr. Cell phone spam? I mean really, do they think we don't get enough ad on the news papers, magazines, mail boxes, email addresses, direct mail. And I bet that if you don't want this kid of stuff, then you got a subscribe to a do not call list and pay so they don't send you this stuff. Either way, they win.

I wish we had the balls as a nation to give up our cell phones. But I bet we rather loose our freedoms and our lives than our cells phones.
