@tonycrombie Each to his own take on it. Not knocking Grady Martin , but , if you ever actually saw Burlison play , you'd know he was a monster. Not a damn thing wrong with the R'n'R Trio tracks that feature Burlison , meaning MOST of them . If there were , he would'nt be hugely influential today.
@dwt3 Nope, this is The Rock N Roll Trio (3 guys) & it IS Paul Burlison on the electric lead guitar. (Johnny B. on acoustic rhythm). It's clearly Burlison who used a Fender guitar (bright tone), which is heard on the R&R Trio recordings. Grady Martin also played lead electric on many of the recordings. His tone is not so bright (he used a custom made guitar made by Paul Bigsby) and his single string playing ability is outstanding. Nothing against Burlison who was good, but Grady was great, imo.
