The guitar was somewhat drowned out by the orchestra. Sharon Isbin writes in her Classical Guitar Answer Book (P. 16) that she has solved this problem with a tiny wireless microphone attached under the sound hole which transmits to a speaker hidden behind the orchestra. The speaker is omnidirectional and the audience is unaware of any sound amplification. This is a wonderful solution as the classical guitar has a relatively soft voice compared to other orchestral instruments.
