  • Its very smooth oil primed linen, pulled tight on a heavy stretcher frame. Masonite or acrylic gessoed canvass would also allow you to remove it fairly easily. Plus I used a lot of mineral spirits and steel wool.

  • Are u doing the base wash with acrylic paint?or is that oil paint loosed with turpentine.

  • @MrChromio

wash base? Do you mean the first paintng of sissy's body? Everything is oil. you could use acrylic (very thin) for a first pass, but I rarely see much advantage in doing so, and if I did I wouldn't be able to scrub it out unless I was using some heavy drying retardants, and since using lots of retardant is archivally questionable, especially in an underpainting, better to just use some of the faster drying oils.

  • Drooling! For some reason i felt like i was 5 again watching Sesame Street, only way more bad ass. Happy good feelings all around. You make beautiful paintings and i love your editing too.

  • Thanks. yes, definate sesame street influence.

  • Great work! I was looking at painting videos to try and work up the motivation to actually get some @#$% painting done hehe. I was wondering, is that illustration board, masonite, heavily primed canvas, or something else? Maybe it's just the effect of the time-lapse and/or the video quality but that support seems pretty rigid, and the surface seems pretty smooth for you to be able to wipe away all of the paint so easily. I'm thinking about switching to wood panels myself.

  • Wow man....all I can say.....is you drew me into the action all the way...Quite impressed.....liked the whole thing..."One artist to another" Thumbs up!
