This was my favorite bit of the whole film. It was a very unusual ending, but it worked and looked fantastic :-)

  • I know. If you get the chance, read the play, its really good, im doing it for my GCSE at the moment.

  • @A7XisEPIC I might just do that its that time again! Happy Christmas!

  • "Pass the parcel. That's sometimes all you can do. Take it, feel it and pass it on. Not for me, not for you, but for someone, somewhere, one day. Pass it on, boys. That's the game I want you to learn. Pass it on." - A really emotional and hard hitting sentence Hector says during the film. :)

  • @Sopeydragon yeah as you say, its very honest and very hard hitting. A loverly message. Its nice to find a film thats not all doom and gloom :-D I wish I'd been born in the early 80's, such easier times, a lot less political correctness.

  • @dogsarefab Merry christmas to you to.

  • @A7XisEPIC wow that's quite a U-turn, I wonder why they changed it so much. doesn't exactly make the film any lighter

  • @dogsarefab Its just the ending, in the play Posner is clearly mentally ill, lives alone and keeps a scrap book of the other boys, but in the film he becomes a head teacher that doesnt touch kids

  • @A7XisEPIC I didn't get on with the play at all, I walked out half way through I couldn't stick it. but I found the film so endearing :-) maybe I have no culture!!

  • Posner was my favorite character! There was something about the boys that made them so endearing.

  • Alan Bennet is the best writer ever.

  • Alan Bennet is the best writer ever

  • Absolutely magical. A beautiful play, a beautiful film, wonderfully acted and directed. I can't tell you how many times I've read the play, and watched this film, and the ending brings a tear to my eye each time. Perfect
