The Droid RAZR has been widely criticized for its battery. In some cases it's deserved, but the fact still remains that the battery is variable depending on how you use the device. IN certain use cases (as shown in the video), the RAZR is achieving well over 30 hours. This use case assumes of course that you are focused on your job/school/kids/etc. and not playing with your phone all day long.

There are tools, such as Smart Actions, that can also help, but you still will need to adjust your workflow if you want a long lasting battery. Some people will find this unacceptable; in which case this phone is not for you.

  • Ok...I like the vid so props. I'm a moderate user. I facebook, maybe watch a vid or 2. But mostly use it as a mp3 device ie working out or driving to or from work...do I really need to get the razr maxx?

  • @hummer661 Depends on what app you use. Built in music app - you're fine with the regular RAZR. Google Music - battery will take a hit. Amazon MP3 playing local music - battery will take a hit.

  • How many years will this battery last? 2 years, 5 years? batteries don't last forever? I want a phone to last 4 years.

  • @gringojohn2 Most Lithium Ion batteries can be expected to last at least 2 years - assuming regular charging. Then their life will degrade.

  • thankfully, motorola listen to their costumers.. they have the new droid razr maxx... mistermarcusgmail can u review the razr maxx batery life? :) please...

  • @jomac21 As much as I'd like to, I can't feasibly see justifying the purchase. If I manage to sell some products then I'll consider it.

  • Really great video! I just got this as my first smart phone and was extremely disappointed at the low battery life after the first charge. I realize now that my expectations were a bit high, and i was using it like crazy the first 6/7 hours. I made several changes based on your suggestions, and changed my perception a bit about the battery life of smart phones in general. The phone seems to be holding a much longer life now. Thanks again for the video, one of the most informative ive seen!

  • @adicto001 ,,,, i got the droid razr maxx. its expensive at 300 with a 2 year agreement, but the battery life is really impressive. i am not too heavy of a user but i do go online, text, fb, etc and i charge it once every 2 days, or once every 1.5 days.

  • @probowl2 I got the HTC rezound and it has some issues with static noise. rezound suppose to have amazing sound, but there are a lot issues with static noise. the standard battery sucks, i got also the extneded it works well but you end up carrying a brick. today I'm going to verizon to return it. my wife's iphone works way better than the rezound. be aware of all those issues.

  • Good videos. I found them helpful. Thanks!

  • I have decided not to get a MOto Droid Razor because, I expect a phone to last 4 years and if the battery is only going to last 2 then I will get one with a replaceable.
