I just love this, voice like dripping velvet!

@lovervights A song I adore. He's singing about the (perhaps naive) optimism and faith in technology of the 50s. Look up "International Geophysical Year." Here's his CD liner note: "The songs on this album represent certain fantasies that might have been entertained by a young man growing up in the remote suburbs of a northeastern city during the late fifties and early sixties, i.e., one of my general height, weight and build. - D.F."

I think Donald Fagan is singing about when the man we have to accept to go to heaven which is Jesus comes back.

Music like this is greater than the sum of its parts. Brilliant!
'90 minutes from New York to Paris' - sheer poetry.
How lucky are we to live in times that gives us this kind of thing?

What a beautiful world this will be
I'm 23 and song these days are lacking meaning, they all talk about the same theme. There are good artist but they are overshadowed by major marketing and commercial music. Music that doesn't have any soul and they just write some melodies to exploit them. When Steely Dan and Donald Fagen make music, I can feel and hear the passion in it instantly. I listen to The Nightfly album almost every day and never get tired of it. This is a just a beautiful and nostalgic song, timeless song I might add.
