Alfred, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (Alfred Ernest Albert; 6 August 1844 -- 30 July 1900) was the third Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, and reigned from 1893 to 1900. He was also a member of the British Royal Family, the second son and fourth child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. He was created Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Kent and Earl of Ulster in the peerage of the United Kingdom on 24 May 1866. He succeeded his paternal uncle Ernst as the reigning Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha in the German Empire on 23 August 1893.

i never like his wife and i dont think he love her either well queen victoria would not want another danish princess and almost all the german princess that were available either did not want to live in the sorroful court of victoria or queen victoria eldes daughter would find something wrong with them he end up with marie of russia who hate england and the royal family

these marriages victoria organised were messy. by all accounts alfred was a nice person. he was the one who looked most like his mother. this was beautifully done and the music was perfect.
