How to change language in Windows 7 SP1 any version

This is a trick to change the language under Windows 7 SP1 for any version!

The main issue was to find the lp.cab working with SP1. This video shows you how to find and extract it :)

Procedure:


Run CMD as administrator and type:

dism /Online /add-Package /packagepath:(path to lp)

bcdedit /set {current} locale (your locale)

bcdboot %WinDir% /l (your locale)

Then in registry go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/ControlMUI/UILanguages

Check if the target language has appeared
If so, remove key en-US (if your system was in English) and you're good to go :)

I hope my comment can be replied ASAP but is this action reversible? Say that I install German MUI, how can I change the language back to English? Thanks.

@marylinemartine I really don't know if it's reversible, using the recovery tool might help! Otherwise I hope you speak German.

please help, i did everything, the file unpacked in cmd, but the language did not appear in the mui registry, i am prooly being dumb but what shud i do?

hi there, thanks for uploading!

i have got the zip file and in the CMD it said it was unzipping it after the first command, and said operation complete after the second two, but the new language didnt show up in the MUI Registry thingy. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Heres what I entered

Thank you very much.. I spent half an hour on the internet to find the lp.cab file. Didn't know it was generated by running the kb file. The lp.cab file though seems to disappear pretty fast if you don't move it to another location.. Thanks again..
