I've had my Ruko Fox Moab for years, by no means an expert or a master but this strike seems very impotent to me, I have tried it and the only use I see for the curved blade is a forward slash with the same grip you used in this video, it just seems the most natural to me. I love to carry it because it opens as I draw it, very handy, but it has it's limitations, I think. Sharpens hot dog sticks nicely though!
First off, excellent video, very well made and informative.
I do have a question though sir. Is it best to practice the extension, terminating the rotation as you showed by squeezing the ring? My thought is that it would slow down the kinetic energy of the blade in the strike. I practice these maneuvers by letting the handle 'bounce' off of my thumb below the knuckle, letting it retain full energy for a strike, and if the strike misses, redirecting that energy to bring the blade back around.
thank you, your video has helped alot you should def. do more
