Sea World - Sea Lion & Beluga Whale Interactions 2006

Consider this a blatant plug for the Animal Interaction educational programs offered through Sea World. I was fortunate enough to experience both the Sea Lion and Beluga Whale interactions at the San Antonio facility during the Spring of 2006 and can only describe it as one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had. @swishersweetie2000 I loved both interactions very much... the Sea Lions are fun and the Beluga Whales are so large and gentle.... of course you spend more time in the water with the Belugas since they can't come out... so that might be a determining factor for you.... but I would be hard pressed to say one interaction was better than the other.... both are fabulous opportunities to get up close and personal with some very special animals... let me know which one you decide to do.... have fun!

Anyway I don't know about other facities in the world that train sea lions but it breaks my heart to hear these rumors being spread about sea lion care since what we do for them here in the Milwaukee Zoo are far from what you accuse them of doing. Don't believe everything you hear or read on those anti-captivity websites since i give you my word first-hand that a lot of it is far from the truth.

I work at seaworld and it brings tears to my eyes each time I see some one interact with one of our animals. They are so amazing and wonderful and I love how we teach the general public about them. We love our animals so much and honestly care for them with our hearts. These interaction programs helps us help them live on for more generations and to help educate the public. I am so glad you had a great time. When I did the programs, they were life changing for me.

Absolutely precious video! Thank you so much for sharing. This must have been an incredible experience. I interacted with belugas in SeaWorld Orlando, but did not enter the water with them. I would have absolutely loved to have done that spinning dance you did with the whale! Wonderful video!!

I ended up doing the Beluga Interaction, mainly because it looked to be the less crowded of the two, and I wanted as much one-on-one time with the animal as possible. It was amazing! I had a great time and can't wait to do it again someday.

I love beluga whales and sea lions. They are 1 of my favorite marine animals. They are the friendliest and the most gentle creatures. This inspires me to be an animal doctor for years.
