@Z0MB1E165 I will agree that real swords are fun to fight with, when you're well protected. However, Amtgard does not use real swords because of safety rules. I don't think it would be good to have members getting killed on live steel and the orgnization having to shut down.

@dethmatal22 there are many different battle games you can play, in my group, Thor's Refuge, we played a 3 army battle for the holy grail

@cloverfawkes If its the same Avalok that I know, Avalok Twiceborn, then We are hundreds(if not thousands) deep in the Pierce County area of Tacoma, Washington. Many of them also fight in armor with Rattan weapons.

i do real sword fighting and i find this hilarious. also having no cross guard = gay, and steel swords are a lot more fun

@dethmatal22 Anything is possible, if you can come up with a way to do it, then go for it. My shire personally didn't have flags, and there were a few empty jugs of water, so we used those instead. It worked out quite well

There's an actual bridge in our park so our bridge battles are pretty brutal. It's only 3 shields wide, too, so the poles are pretty boss. The only thing that sucks is having to call holds for the dead to get out of the way periodically.

Ya it was cool the first few times in my group, then everyone learned how to catch them. Thanks to that we just did away with throwing weapons, what's the point when everyone can catch them?
