Chocolate Caramel Bars
Crust:
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
Filling:
2 cups chopped pecans
1 cup flaked coconut
1-300 ml can sweetened condensed milk
Topping:
1-227g package classic caramels
2 Tbsp milk or light cream
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
greased 9x13 pan
350 degrees F

  • instead of the caramel squares...would smuckers caramel sundae syrup work?

  • @aries16xox i'm not sure. i don't think it would solidify the way the caramels do...it would probably just run out when you cut the squares. it would probably taste good though!

    I was just going to make the bars and realized I forgot to buy the caramels...and wonder could I in their place use Smuckers caramel sauce in the jar for on ice cream? If not then I guess I need to get to the store first thing in the morning....LOL
