I prefer the original version of this with Robert Donat but I thought Northam was quite good also. Now here's a bit of trivia for you all. The person who played Ronnie Winslow in the original film from 1948 also appears in this one. I believe he is the gentleman with the beard who appears near the beginning of this video, if I'm not mistaken.

great vid of a great film. You don't see films like this anymore; it's so subtle and intelligent, and of course, jeremy northam's performance makes the movie. thanks for sharing!!!

Great video, and a wonderful performance from the incomparable Jeremy Northam.

Loved the video. The subtitle in the final quote should be "Oh, do you think so, Miss Winslow? How little you know about men."
Thanks for the clip. Jeremy was strikingly attractive in the scenes Kate came to his office & his x-examined Ronnie. His performance was perfect as he exuded completely renowned and charismatic Sir Robert. He was cool, arrogant, awfully attractive, professional and suave. I think he looked extraordinarily attractive in those scenes when he was in his black & white suit, yes, I dare say, even better than he was in others. Perfect performance, an entire different delivery from Emma.

"The Winslow Boy" is one of the most subtle love stories in film history, and Jeremy Northam's Sir Robert Morton is one of my favourite male characters ever. He is brilliant in this role, more charismatic and attractive than in any other film I have seen him.
