Today we look at a common sense argument and some Sacred Scripture showing that accepting a blood transfusion does not break the Old Testament law of not eating blood.

The vision the apostle Peter saw about Jehovahs making something clean that was formerly regarded as unclean was not merely about food, but, more importantly, it was about Peters attitude toward Gentiles. That account was showing how Jehovah turned his attention to the nations as well (Acts 11:1-18; Acts 15:14) for his NAME.

@eternityandforever You mean Yahweh, God. Jehovah was a direct mistranslation in the late 16ce. The analogy, you do have to admit that gas runs out and oil wear out. They do need to be replaced. Blood by accident or illness may need to be replished, just like a car. Nothing about blood transfusion can defile you or make you unclean. Jesus said, it's in your heart and what comes out of mouth that makes one clean. That's what I tell SDA too about foods. Remember, we are of New Covenant and not Old

@Naturalhit I believe that if Jehovah God, the CREATOR of blood and human life, has determined to make it a law NOT to allow blood to be used by the body as nutrition, or eating of it, I think he's right. HE knows exactly HOW people are made. If a car manufacturer said not to use a certain oil or part, we should respect that they know their design and what works or doesn't work. HOW MUCH MORE SO with God :D. I am very thankful that Jehovah God, the only true God, has revealed what's best for us!

@eternityandforever That's true. You know my wife passed away 5 months ago. She did received blood and plasma tranfusion in order to save her life. If those were tainted with disease given that it would save her life then I say go for it.

Acts 15:29 says to abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from fornication, and from blood. In the next verse it says, "GOOD health to YOU!! Why would it say that next if it isn't good for us to follow those things! FORNICATION= unwanted pregnancies, diseases, BLOOD= diseases, blood rejection, and 50% death rate within a year of transfusion. WE are still under this law. THAT'S WHY it is mentioned in the first place. OF course, there are those who want a way out.....as we have heard today!

@fritzvongarrett Come on! JW's STILL refuse blood transfusions. We are allowing the use of our own blood to be saved by suction up a tube and reserved to be reintroduced into our systems. WE STILL ABSTAIN. YOU are twisting it. YOU have to think a little more about it. I never seen any magazine or literature banning vaccination, actually I've seen them say to get it. I CHOOSE NOT to by my own choice. I don't want the virus injected into me with mercury (40 times higher than FDA safety level).

@fritzvongarrett NOT thousands died because of Watchtower views,it's thousands SAVED because they don't have to go through 'rejection' which 50% of those getting transfusions die from complications within a year.We aren't EXPOSED to Aids,and many other deadly diseases.WE don't have someone else's HORMONES and DNA running in our bodies,CONFUSING our glands and bodily functions. BLOOD is holy,and represents the life of the soul of the person.It is CANNABOLISM! ONLY Jesus' blood saves us FOREVER!

@Naturalhit Blood transfusions are very dangerous. Aids, gonorhea, syphillis, many other disease are transmitted. It is too costly to test for these. Aids takes 6 months to mature enough to be detected.If someone just got Aids a WEEK ago,then gave blood, they would pass that onto the blood transfusion.They can't hold the blood for 6 months to see if it has Aids(OLD).The bible warns many thousands of years ago that blood shouldn't be eaten.GOD IS WISE!Genesis 9:4;Leviticus 17:10-16;19:26

Jehovah Witness and SDA believe in this.  My wife who was a SDA converted to RCC. She has a serious cardio problem and has taken blood several times.

I have a question not related to the video subject....do you believe in evolution or Creationism? I just want to see the point of view of a friar, because many Catholics seem divided on that subject. Thank you.

@cheesemonkey1990 Can we backtrack to the blood issue?? If not, please respect the fact that Christians go by what is written. Speakin on that.. Matt Chapter 23:7 is referring to teacher in a spiritual sense. There is only one teacher, Christ..(John 13:13) you and I are all descendants of Adam.. therefore we are brothers. Maybe not brothers spiritually but brothers in this human culture. Anyhow.. "verse miing"??? thou i have yet to finish the bible.. i understand awhole lot from JW meetings.
