  • Agreed, Nigel, Dee & Davey were just awesome together - organic, emotive and tight. Gotta say tho, Nigel's rich highs really made EJ's backing vocal harmonies great!

    RIP-Dee Murray, you were a genius.

  • GREAT POST - shows what was taken for granted: Dee, Davey and Nigel were a tight vocal section - the best! Their harmonies were as integral to Elton's sound as his piano. The late Gus Dudgeon's production wrapped it all up into the perfection it was. Best part was that they could duplicate these perfect harmonies live - this wasn't a studio "trick." Wish I could hear the entire background mix of this song as it's a perfect example of how tight the band's harmonies were. Again, great post!
