The history making first ever rap record/song on vinyl LP was King Tim III (Personality Jock) done by Rap pioneer Mr. Tim Washington from New York in 1979 music by The Fatback Band. You can impress folks by explaining to them that only hardcore Rap/Hip Hop recording artist. Or music fans who are old enough to remember the beginning of Rap/Hip Hop music. Will know that King Tim III (Personality Jock) was the first rap song recorded on vinyl. So many are clueless about this fact in music history. I see some people write stupid articles saying that it was a recording from a non rap group? He is a rapper with backup music from a soul/funk group, so what? This is nothing new in the industry. "Rappers Delight" released months later was not the first rap song/record regardless of it's commercial success at that time. Many would like to dismiss this fact, with convenient amnesia. Or they are just completely ignorant and just don't know? Comedians,Soul,Rock and Reggae artist from the past soul talking, rhyming their words and telling jokes is not Rap/Hip Hop music. They may have been very talented with their work. But they were not Rap/Hip Hop artist with a recording contract in modern (Rap) music 1979-present day. It's extremely IGNORANT and Foolish to call the word play & rhythmic speech music 40+ years ago Rap/Hip Hop music. There may have been some influences from previous Soul,Rock and Reggae artist from the past. There is positively and absolutely no question about that fact. But the truth is that you cannot change music history! I was in high school when all the early rap hits came out. I was there ,and lived through the birth of Rap/Hip Hop and it was a fun time! Rap/Hip Hop artist like these made it happen! WWRL in NYC,Kurtis Blow ,Kool Herc & the Herculoids,Eddie Cheeba,Pete DJ Jones,Spoonie G,Sweet G,Funky Four Plus One,Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5, The Nigga Twins, Clark Kent, D.ST, DJ Coke La Rock,DJ Junebug,Love Bug Starski,The Treacherous Three,The Sequence,Lady B,Jocko,Ron Hunt,Lady D,Afrika Bambaataa & Cosmic Force,Joe Bataan,Jimmy Spicer,Grandmaster Caz,Tanya Winley, Melle Mel,Run DMC,U.T.F.O.,Marley Marl,Roxanne Shante ,World's Famous Supreme Team,Bronx,New York City etc. The names go on and on! King Tim 3rd
