Dal Lake often described as the "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir" or "Srinagar's Jewel", is a Himalayan urban lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the icon of Kashmir tourism industry with numerous gardens and orchards all along its shores. Dal Lake is the second most largest fresh water lake in the state with five basins and numerous channels linked to each other.
