In the cockpit from brake release through the initial climbout and level-off at 2,000'. A pilot new to the MD-11 is in the left seat hand-flying the airplane.
-Note: To all those out there that play on fsx or whatever they call the desktop computer game "flight simulator," this is very very far from it; "flight simulator" is not remotely close to either these types of Level D certificated Sims or the flight training/crew certification that goes on in them...

  • A 30 million dolars LEVEL D flight simulator is better than a 100 dolars computer simulator? ....really? wow

  • @fedeaer737 You wouldn't know it looking at 95% of the comments from home flight simulator "experts" giving their expert "advice and opinions," all based on their intensive aviation experience playing the game. My favorite quote from them, "Well, I've logged over 100 hours in MD-11's on Flight Simulator." Like I said, surprisingly, the description is needed.

  • Pilots wearing jeans in real workplace would be fun.

  • Where can I go find such simulators in San Diego, CA?. Looks fun.

  • What did he do wrong? He's in training anyway!

  • @fedeaer737 Wait so how much do you have to pay for entering this simulator?

  • how do you get a hold of a level d simulator? i'm curious.

  • @stefanorso sorry for being curious but are you a pilot?

  • looks like Contador the guy on the left

  • A full motion flight simulator, priced at 14,000,000 USD cannot be similar to a cheap product priced at 40 USD.

The Flight Sim by Microsoft isn't a game at all: it is used even to give initial training to new cadets.

X-Plane is better than FSX and is a serious tool for real designers.

A friend of mine, who had used FSX for some time, once got a chance to try a 25,000,000 euros simulator by Thales (MD80 Simulator). He took off and landed very well and totally unaided.
