Here's for everyone that keeps messaging me and asking me how to setup and use a MIDI controller in Serato ScratchLIVE, in particular the Behringer DDM4000 mixer.

  • hello sr. what serato are you using?, is that an SL1, i want to know if ddm 4000 can be connect to SL3 ,tnx

  • @sempotnikk - Yes, the DDM is just a regular mixer and can be used with any of the Scratch Live soundcards (SL1, SL2, SL3, SL4).

  • Is it possible to midi map the buttons in FX1 and FX2 section in the center of the mixer to control scratch live. I want to be able to midi map this section of the mixer because of the layout.

  • @djdremusic1 - No, the FX on the mixer cannot be used for MIDI control, sorry.

  • any videos with the dicer?

  • @allanxpoe83 - I don't own the dicers, but they're pretty much plug and play, no mapping needed, so I don't think a video would be necessary.

  • @DJLazBoz Hey I just bought the DDM4000 and had the same problem. No idea why does that either, but I kept turning it on and off till I barely was able to see anything on the FX screen, but then also you need to turn the nob that is on the right side of the effect area to move the contrast of the screen up till you are able to see whats on the screen.. good luck

  • is there a need for a serato box when using this method?

  • hey guys, i have this mixer and when i turn it on it says "Adjust vr24 for best readability" and nothing works, so i have to turn it on and off till the red lights at the top turn on first for it to work... does anyone know how to fix this? pls inbox or reply to this

  • i have everything connected but its not letting me map anything, what should i do?

  • awesome thanks! ive had the DDM for like 4 years and serato but never even thought of using them together!!

  • can i also control the fader and the crossfader with the midi control? does the midi control als walk with "virtual dj" and "ultramixer pro"? thx for help :)

  • @MrDjiceq Thank you very much for the info....I think i will try it even though the self-check is supposed to last 2 days. I was going to send it back to Behringer for repair, thx again. I'll do as you said.

  • @jeanviarel Hi I recently bought the DDM 4000 slightly used i had the same issue. "VR24" particularly means the system is going for a system self check. I had switched on and off several time but did not pass that point until such time i had let the unit to do a full system re-test.. Just On the DDM4000 and Press only Once the OK knob (Console Set up knob) and let it go on by itself, after a while the system will start to test all its lights, buttons, knobs etc.... let it complete then restart..

  • Will i abble to do the Midi mapping with the Pioneer DJM-700 like on the Video.

    Thx

  • I have the same midi to USB adapter my comp is saying it is working fine but I'm not able to map anything nothing happens when I try to assign it. Is there something on the ddm that I need to set up so that it will let me do so? Or am I having a problem with the mixer? Thanks any help appreciated
