J.F. Missali is a Brazilian trumpetist, leader of the New Orleans Jass Band. He continuously learn and teaches Traditional Jazz, strongly inspired in its historical and musical roots. His first ragtime composition was shown to his friends, Maestro Tito Martino in Brazil and Maestro Paul Zelders in Holland. They are also jazz musicians and act as musical guides to Missali, and they suggested him to record and publish this ragtime piece. Missali asked his friend and piano player Alexandre Hage to record the tune, and named the rag MAMA JULIETA RAG, after his mother Julieta Micheli Missali, who when alive was herself a big fan to the Band. After lots of hard work, the tune came out happy and jumping, and it seemed to them that Mama Julieta was there at the studio to enjoy the recording being made. That recording was a special treat for the son who had helped so much the old lady in her last years.
This recording was worked-out, produced and is now offered to you by the young and dedicated students from the NEW ORLEANS JASS BAND of J.F. Missali.
