  • An extremely strange looking anvil...Can i ask what type of anvil this is?Is it a new design or is it an antique

  • @richyearle007 This anvil is a classic German double horned anvil with upset block on the side with the date stamped next to the maker's mark: 1906. The design emerged from medieval anvil forms around 1860 with 2 horns (round and tapered) and a very small upset block. This anvil form was perfected in Germany by 1885 where it continues as the top choice today.

  • How much does your anvil weight?

  • @Jeepynator

     The anvil weighs 512 pounds.

  • Vielen Dank fuer die gute technische Information! Wir stimmen komplett zu. Dieser Amboss ist nur temporal und nicht auf einem staendigen Untersatz Holzklotz. aufgestellt, nur fuer dieses vidio. Josh

Thank you for the excellent technical information! We agree completely. This anvil is only temporary and not on a permanent base block of wood. It was set up, just for this vidio. Josh

  • I love the ring. I use it as a sleep sound on my iPhone. Knocks me right out.

  • @solittleusernames As per looney toons rule it would have to be made by ACME and weigh 16 tons.

  • Put a big magnet (from loudspeaker) on the anvil. That will stop the "ding"

  • God dang that ring sucks

  • Gutenklang ist sehr schlecht! God what a racket! I love the design but the neighbors would hate it if I got one of these.

  • Hi, I bet you hear that ringing all night. I have a 500lb double horn Habermann that rings like that. I got sick of hearing it so I poured in about 100lbs of small 1/4" bolts on the stand and all around the anvil. Finally, some peace from that bell!

  • damn, put a chain on that thing

  • how do you transport a anvil of that weigt?

  • Hello, nice video! What do the small taps on the anvil between strikes accomplish? Thank you!

  • id imagine ppl who use anvils for years go tone deaf to that frequency over time.
