Lugia vs Shadow Lugia - A-kon 22

The ultimate fight between good and evil- who will win!? ....

While walking around at A-kon 22 in Dallas, Texas, we happened to spot another Lugia lurking the halls and was determined to corner and face off with her. And Sunday afternoon, the fated meeting of Lugia and Shadow Lugia came to be.

BAATTTLLEEE!


The Lugia cosplay was created by WatermelonDay (AppleBush on deviantART) and was based on my original design - hence why we mirror each other so well! I was so glad to have met up with her for the awesome cosplay opportunity.

I've also been asked for over a year now to upload some footage of my completed Shadow Lugia costume, so forgive me for taking so long to do so. The costume is battle-worn and will need restoration before I take any official photos and videos (why I have not uploaded it to DA yet). He'll be back for next year's con if you happened to miss him this time around.

Pretty epic battle! Riley you definitely do pokemon battles justice, too many times there are play battles like this and one person, or both don't react to being struck or their attacks look all wimpy. I wish we could have a pokemon battle, because like you I run around, try to make moves unique and react to being hit. <3

@Italychan Ah yes! Thanks so very much for mentioning this- it's something that Ani and I always strive to do. We feel that cosplay should be just as much about mirroring a character's looks as it is bringing a character to life. We always try to engage our audience to give them the best presentation and personal interaction and experience with our artwork in a way no other medium can. Poor vision and Ani deafness are problems, but we've had many fun, successful impromptu battles :) Thanks!

Do you happen to know when another great cosplay for naruto and other types of anime similar to the one in this video will take place in Dallas, Texas for 2013? A friend of mine, my little sister, and I have been saving up money for a trip with cosplay and we should be ready by 2013. The problem is we're having trouble finding good/spectacular/amzing/ etc. xD anime conventions in the south.
