A demonstration of the Hung Gar kata (believed to be hung gar) Tiger & Crane. This kata is not traditional Kenpo, but is taught as one of the katas in the Tracy System of Kenpo Karate. Because the kata is traditional Hung Gar, not Kenpo, it is still demonstrated in a Kenpo fashion. The style in which this kata is done is significantly different different from the way it is done in Hung Gar. So if you are a Hung Gar student, please don't be angry. This is Kenpo's version of the kata.

  • Go look up fu hok or the tiger and crane form hung kuen because this is the worst piece of crap version I have ever seen

  • @artinmotion2003 lol, wow aren't you respectful

  • Jon, while you and I have different versions of the form not one of them is more correct then the other. I love how people get on the internet and criticize and insult. Mr. Packer (RIP), my first instructor said, "The internet and phones have made heroes of us all." Truer words have never been spoken. As to your form, train hard my friend and I will too. Let us always be brothers in the art.

  • @ymerej5h that's a great quote! Thanks, bro. Happy training ehh :)

  • amy i ask what is the purpose of his is it for training

  • to me, it taught me to move more gracefully and more elegantly which I've used to help with grace and learning to harness energy like in Tai Chi, also it's helped me with my movement in acting, another passion of mine.

i thought it was perfect. there are different versions of this kata, this is the most similar to the one that i was taught. go do tae kwon do, keyboard warrior

  • wow. This just shows that no matter what you do or ask of people they'll never be pleased or find some way to be pissed off at you. You asked them to please not get upset because this hung gar kata is being done in a kenpo manner and of course they ignore that and come here with all the so called knowledge of martial arts. All karate kata, which yes did come from China, is done in a way karate and kenpo way.

  • Interesting to see this Kenpo version of this famous Hung Gar kung fu form, cool.

  • thats a nice kenpo version of the form :) nice that uve incorporated some movement into your art

  • @race2max why don't you upload yourself doing the tiger crane hung gar kung fu. I wouldn't say that this guy isn't getting any benefit at all. It looks like a decent kenpo kata but there is a clear absence of power. After all he is adapting the Tiger Crane to the Kenpo system.

  • I hear a lot of bs but, yes you can apply crane blows from overhead, to the st-12 acupoint, or dropping into the eye socket. the first will drop you for second or seal the breath, the second will damage the eye, It's not hung gar, but the form has been made to work for kenpo. hung gar was just a reformation of older material anyway, which came from stuff, which came from.. Ah you get it right??
