Minnesota Senate Minority Leader Tom Bakk says plans by the Republican caucus to remove Ellen Anderson as Public Utilities Commissioner are based upon her past votes as a Senator and not her current record as Commissioner. Senator Bakk called the move the the Republican caucus "blatant partisan attack" on DFL Governor Mark Dayton's administration.
What did this woman do that was so "controversial"? Did she STAND UP for lower prices and fairer rates for residents in the state? It's only created 'controversy' in the minds of idiot right-wingers who hate government.
Just more partisan bullshit from the GOP, as usual. I bet the only reason they might defeat her confirmation is b/c she's a Democrat. They just don't wanna ADMIT that that's their reason.

"She's got a tough record for job providers, job creators, the ratepayers,'' Ortman said. "Her work has created some controversy, and it makes it very difficult to confirm a commissioner that is as controversial as she has been.''
Yeah, REAL tough record on those "job-creating" utilities companies... wtf
Why not just PRIVATIZE these utilities, say the Republicans? Who cares about the consumers? Profit matters. Dear god...

Is she a secret Communist? WHAT could she possibly believe in that a) has much relevance on her ability to lead as PUC and b) is THAT extreme for such a position? I'm DYING to know, MN Republicans.

What exactly are this woman's "extreme" views?? The fact that she might support making utilities like electricity a PUBLIC resource, rather than this privatized bullshit?
