One way I thought of to put it is to say what unschooling is not. It's not learning by coercion. It's the understanding that learning is what the brain does constantly during waking hours, and that there's no way to stop it, only to warp it (forcing it, deciding for someone else how/when/what they should learn). Kids require only supportive parents. We learn what we need to learn based on the world we live in. If you don't believe it, if that's scary, it's b/c you grew up in school.

You are so inspirational. I love your philosophy. I have two children that went to public school early on, then I homeschooled them. They are adults now. One is in the Marines, the other is an Artist. (Not a starving one either} Well I have a five year old that we are homeschooling and I am very interested in unschooling as his lessons. Every day life is great!

About the disease, I am no doctor, but It sounds to me as the black plague.
First of all it will take decades to improve that feeling, for instance the feelings against the germans are, after more than 60 years, still here. I am no expert in the middle east, but I think that the people there blame the americans fore everything (like europeans did against the jewish in the middle ages), as long as they get blamed they will never get a better image.

@jamiedoer2 Une equation avec 3 variables n'a pas de solution (même si les réponses sont irrationnel) il faudrait 3 équation, ou il faudrait garder 2 variables.
20x the mass of the moon is 147x10^22 kg (around 1/5 of the earth). This is so big that no existing (and stable) element on earth could ever hold the weight of that. If the moon is on the earth (within the atmosphere) the force that the earth and the moon would excrete on each other would make (over time) the moon and the earth merge

L'equation que tu me donne a 3 variables, mais un système qui est compose d'une equation et 3 variables n'as pas de solution (même si les nombres sont irrationnels) sauf si on choisi 2 des variables comme variables.
If you want to build a bridge that can hold a mass of 147x10^22kg (20x the moon) the object must be very long and thin, If you keep the original shape of the moon, the moon would merge with the earth, no material on earth can be strong enough to hold that.

@jamiedoer2 First of all I never stated that america existed in the middle ages, I just said that the way people live in the USA would go and resemble the way life was in the middle ages (in europe).
If a person is being unschooled from a young age, they will never qualify for a university to become a doctor.

@Ronnock My method is just to ask people who doubt unschooling methods questions about all the subjects "going to school" is supposed to teach us about (see my reply to Gerjancava above)..
It shuts most people up.
-
@Gerjancava If you had been educated properly then you'd know America wasn't around in the Middle Ages..
brilliant, brilliant brilliant, all i ever wanted to put in words without being able to do it. Exciting and inspiring.
