Selected testimony before the NH Senate Judiciary Committee on HB436: 'relative to civil marriage and civil unions,' 4/15/2009, just 'cause I found it compelling. Alright! I found it sensitive, OK...?!. See the full (groan) hearing -- and MUCH more commentary -- at http://bikerbillnh.blogspot.com/2009/04/redneck-vs-pariah-not-that-theres.html
it has nothing to do with equal protections the minister has to say that if he wants to keep his tax exempt status. the state forces ministers to keep that agreement .

Wow, ive seen many great people speak in support of gay marriage, but that kid in the beginning really moved me. Now that ive composed myself......States cannot meddle in your religious affairs, and religions cannot meddle in state affairs. Simple as that. =)

Marriage is a STATE institution. A wedding ceremony is a religious blessing of the Marriage. Marriage can exist without religion. Marriage can NOT exist without the STATE! The church acknowledges this at every wedding when the minister says "by the power invested in me by the STATE of New Hampshire (or any other state)" Equal protections MUST be applied! It is a contract and we should be able to sign a contract with each other.
MARRIAGE EQUALITY FOR ALL!
