Invasive Species introduction Trans Canada Highway 29/02/08

Same guy different target. This footage was taken February 29th 08 near a beautiful Garry Oak meadow in Landford BC just north of the Capitol City of Victoria. The pawns perform the dirty work while the elite company owner(s) stay in the background performing like cheerleaders. Appears as if some of the "smarter" employees (or contractors) roam around putting out fires by interfering with cameras, distracting protesters and taking directions via cel phones. They also appear to be running video on these cels. This is not much different than when Mr. Gronnestad came to the top of Spaet Mountain November 16/06 with some of these same men.
One has to wonder what the Workers Compensation Board (WSBC) may have to ask Mr. Gronnestad about having his heat (employees) roadside and any other employers who had their employees roadside pushing protestors, swearing at protestors, shouting lewd comments, destroying property, assaulting legitimate protesters exercising their constitutional rights. I would suggest that they should call WSBC as soon as possible before WSBC gets the footage (read it's going there). The grey haired man who allegedly assaulted a woman Feb 29/08 should also turn himself in to Westshore RCMP. Astatement will be filed along with footage to the Westshore RCMP by one or more of the group of protesters in the coming days. Perhaps he may want to call his other employer friends who were there cheering on the bullies so they too can make statements. And yes there is more to come. Footage is now being assembled to take to the RCMP so charges can be considered. Perhaps the employees will match us on our disclosure of footage. I am sure we could make a fabulous documentary with all the footage shot that day. Thanks for the invite tomorrow guys but if you talk amongst yerselves you should come up with something brilliant. I don't think we'll be coming. And oh yes to the guy who admits he's a blaster; did you blow up Spaet our sacred cave? The final statement in this video seems pretty clear. They were paid for the event. For the record not one of the legitimate non violent protesters were paid and no they are not all on welfare. A mix of primarily professionals and students came together to draw attention to environmental degradation and Indigenous issues in the area. We have not given up and will never resort to the level of aggression and oppression perpetrated by the developer elite and their paid heat.

This protest by the construction workers was in response to thousands of dollars of vandalism done to construction vehicles parked at the site. It shows that mob mentality can degenerate into ugly incidents on both sides of the spectrum. The reality is this interchange was planned over a decade ago. Langford is one of the gateway's to Victoria, with two major highways running through it, yet only one of 17-18 municipalities that people live in but commute to Victoria for work. Put in a gate.

Hi Dumfree: There is not a shred of evidence that links any of the protesters to said damage.This seems to fit right along with Landford City council claim that some one smeared feces in the bathroom at City hall and protesters were accused of that as well.Protesters engaged at "Stop the BearMountainInterchange" are practicing non-violent activism and there would be no coaching of legitimate protesters to engage in the acts alleged by yourself,the developers or the Landford City Council.

First of all the mountain is Skirt Mountain not "Spaet" mountain. I think the Spencer road interchange and the Bear Mountain golf course are absurd and do not need to be built. They blocked the Florence Lake and now they're going to destroy the Langford Lake Cave. It's idiotic that they destroyed the construction equipment. But I also think that people that people don't respect the law in the West Shore because the RCMP doesn't respect the people.

Dumfree this highway has been in the works for years but in no way will serve the growing population boom of Langford or Southern Van. Isl. A new overpass on dmirals and McKenzie would do that and if you have lived here for any length of time you would be well aware of this fact. This interchange is going to serve the needs of Bear Mt. and cronies inc..

Agreed. I have family that live in the area and there have been numerous break ins, car thefts, vandalism etc. The destruction of construction equipment could have been done by virtually anyone. Even if the vandalism was done by someone opposed to the interchange it doesn't mean it has anything to do with the said protesters. Without proof you can't generalize. Stew Young is trying to vilify the protesters so the general public views them as nothing but a bunch of uneducated hooligans.
