Very rough around the edges, too long, sound glitches and loop to quiet ... BUT... battling against sound routing gremlins, this is my first video of an improvisation using my looping gear: Mobius (available from www.zonemobius.com), Boss FC-50 Midi Foot Controller and Korg Toneworks Bass Effects. Hope you like it - this piece nearly made me drift off to sleep! More to come as I get used to using my gear. Peace, Russ.

  • i just bought a Roland GFC-50 (which I believe is the exact same thing as the Boss FC-50) and was wondering if you could tell me how you programmed it to start/stop loops and basically control Mobius. Or at least point me in the direction of learning how to program it.

I'm new to midi stuff and looping software but am eager to learn.

Thanks in advance for any help you can lend.

  • @robbarreda Sorry for the late reply! I no longer own the FC-50, I now use a Behringer FCB1010, but the principle is the same. Program the pedals to send midi Note messages -- this is what Mobius needs to receive. Ctrl is fine for sweeps such as volume or feedback etc., but use Notes for everything else. Hope this helps! Russ.

  • hey nice playing! what is the korg tonework pedal like?

  • Cheers! Bit rough this video! The Korg Toneworks effects are pretty cool. The pedal housing is very cheap and plastic, but the effects themselves are good.

  • Really nice and inspiring.

BTW: what bass brand/model are you using?

  • Hey there, thank you very much! Glad to inspire :-) The bass is an Ibanez SRX500. Had it a while. Designed for heavier music, but I love the range of tones it gives me and it has a lovely slim neck.
