LYRICS:
I'm a son of immigrants from the Philippines
They came here in '88 then had me
First Melbourne born so happy
Got citizenship before the family
Always identified as Australian
But the bigots around made comparisons
Like he eats rice every meal, he's asian
We don't like his kind, they're invadin'
as immigration was on the agenda
immigrants felt like political prisoners
as the false patriots were causing fissures
skewing public opinion with ignorant whispers, so
ironically xenophobes were minorities
that wanted minorities off their property
so no matter what they said, they never stopped me
because their position was a fucking hypocrisy

You used to bring me down for being different
Because my skin reflects a colorful pigment
So don't say a word, cause I'm feelin' it
That's what I've learned with Age & Experience
and I can't blame you for being ignorant
society raised you to be resistant
to those with eyes from lands so distant
That's what I've learned from Age & Experience

And nowadays it's more below the surface
Elephant in the room on loan from the circus
And I pray that they don't do this on purpose
That they don't know what they are doing every time that it hurts us
So It's like I got burned, by this melting pot
It's Like I got served, soup full of rocks
It's Like they made me swallow my heart
It's like they feel that my heritage l should be ashamed of
It's the reason why I masked my accent
Why I dropped my R's and started actin'
Disregarded my family's culture and their habits
In fear of not fitting into the social fabric
When the weave consists of all kinds of threads
When their siege prevents love to be spread
When all the heartless would rather wish me dead
Their words are loaded so I say 'go ahead'.

I'm usually cool about it but I can't take no more
I'm a silent witness and vitcim to the underscore
And I can't ignore what I and others go through
So like gambino I'm super saiyin' it like goku
Cause I'm part tofu in terms of origin
And even within racial lines we're partisan
And It's not my fault mestizo's on tv are common
So other Filipinos please put down your shotguns
I still got love for y'all, I know you have to say it
But don't pass that shit to me if you can't take it
So save it and combat with compassion
Cause it's more love we need, not more asshole combatants

You used to bring me down for being different
Because my skin reflects a colorful pigment
So don't say a word, cause I'm feelin' it
That's what I've learned with Age & Experience
and I can't blame you for being ignorant
society raised you to be resistant
to those with eyes from lands so distant
That's what I've learned from Age & Experience
