Thank you Governor Christie. I hope my mayor is on your list. Raising property taxes 30 percent in 2011 is probably just the beginning of a crisis for our town. The Homestead Rebate is so appreciated this month so at least for one more quarter I can sleep at night. Relief is so needed for thousands if not millions of NJ residents.

@garak99 Thank you for explaining the process and I would request that our Governor ask the unions to renegotiate keeping in mind we all want a purpose, to stand tall with pride, and have self respect at the end of the day and some of us with the present economic climate are struggling to do just that. We are willing we are just not able to substain these services at this time. The jobs simple are not paying enough to continue to pay these contracts anymore.

@EconCat88 You can't get rid of you sit down and come to a agreement that all parties can live with
-
@jobless862 The Governor has to honor the current contracts as it if he does not like it he can ask the unions to renegotiate or he can and should RESIGN

Public workers, say you have to take your resume today and start looking for work, you would be offered 2/3 less then you are making now if you could even get employment.
Wisdom should tell you, be grateful and if it means keeping your job and giving up sick days that I would advise my fellow citizens to do just that. I know I love my public workers but if it is a choice of losing my investment to your sick days that I will agree to consolidate you out of your jobs regretfully.

@garak99 holy shit if you cant tell that msnbc isnt biased then Im never going to convince you because your the kind of person that ignores facts and follows msnbc blindly. Also Christie barely ever goes on media, Im pretty sure the last interview he did was with piers morgan in june. If people like you ran NJ we would still have a huge debt and spending would be out of control

Just get rid of the sick leave rollovers altogether, so they no longer have to worry about these "payouts."

@signal1010 Who is your problem with the workers or the unions? Can't be both ?
-
@garak99 How do you fairly negotiate something at the bargaining table when both sides are controlled by the same people? (public sector unions, and the elected officials that they contribute union dues to)
@garak99 Public service workers need to be fired and replaced with people who recognize that they're not so fucking entitled as they think they are.

@garak99 what are you saying Christie is a great governor. No one in the private sector gets paid for their sick days, why should government workers?
