This song fit the area perfectly and even defined it. It is this song alone that allowed the game's story at that point to transcend the game's copious amount of telegraphing. You weren't just trying to find the next temple to get a medallion anymore, you were the Hero of Time finally riding into his greatest enemy's territory after seven years. You were entering the heart of darkness itself to end Hyrule's suffering, and no seemingly impenetrable fortress could stop you.
