Yep, "because I can" is right. I like how you put it- it does make the concept seem a bit absurd. There is certainly not much practicality behind it, other than the fun of making it, and the binary educational value in having my students help index the book. Thanks for the humor and insight of your comment, It actually gave me some ideas about what might be done to make self- contained indexing bookmark for any book :)

Good thing you have the bookmark as a failsafe backup in the event that the LED page locator thingie for some, y'know, unknown reason fails to tell you exatly which page you're on. I kept thinking "Because I can" watching this.
