Premier of Ontario- Dalton McGuinty Supports EDLs (enhanced drivers licences) and goes as far as to boast on his website that he passed Bill 85
So Dalton takes the credit for this one, although we know he was not alone in this bad piece of legislation for Ontarians.

The new enhanced drivers licences will comply with WHTI ( The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative) WHTI is a U.S. law that requires all travellers, including U.S. and Canadian citizens, to present a valid passport or other approved secure document when entering the United States from within the western hemisphere. The U.S. WHTI is being implemented in stages by mode of transportation.

The new document requirements were implemented for air travel in January 2007. Final document requirements for those seeking to enter the United States at land or water ports of entry will take effect June 1, 2009.

Why Is This A Problem For Canadian Citizens? * WHTI was a result of the 9/11 commission if the majority of US citizens now believe the commission is heavily flawed, why should we base our new ID system around it? * Bill 85 allows for the implimentation of RFID and biometric, photo-comparison technologies * Bill 85 allows for the gathering of threat assessment information and share this information in a common framework with the United States * This threat assement information will be used to determin how you are processed at the border creating a two or three-tier system of border crossing. Where will they get this threat assessment information from? Will All This End At Just An Enhanced Drivers Licence?

I mentioned the International Civil Organization (ICAO) I just wanted to expand on this.

The ICAO is pushing for a technology that will in effect make the new ePassports a Global ID Its called ePassport PKI Validation. This technology will allow for a global network (no central database) that will link the ID systems of all participating nations. It will allow the biometric information contained in ePassports to be relied on to automate aspects of the border clearance process.

Schiphol. the Amsterdam airport, continued refusing the bodyscanners and after the Detroit 'attack' there were morally forced to accept them. @karatekla Hey I agree, what's amazing to me and how people miss out on this is that the scam happened on dec 25. Which is at the heart of xmas holiday season. Then by the 3rd week of January they had those scanners ready to fire up at Pearson airport. How did they manage to rush this in 3 weeks. But when you need your income tax refund done, the IRS takes 3 months. Anyone thought about that? IT WAS ALREADY PLANNED FOR FUCK SAKES.

RFID is extremity expensive, if you have free time to worry about public Government is watching you? why not going to worry how can i earn more MONEY to pay Government tax ? RFID surveillance new technical is unreliable and unpredictable, This RFID technology already use in 100 years ago and NOT use in every person ID, It is install in Every money note , USD,GBP,CHF,EUD, throw every money to rubbish bin(like me) so the world goverment can't be tracking you!
