  • lol@ winows7....

No! It's made for Ubuntu karmic 9.10 + poulsbo driver!

  • This was made for Windows 7.

With 2ghz and 128gb SSD with Win 7 this is my dream gadget!

  • I'm still guessing they're waiting for Windows 7. Because the current Vista machines have had a bit of a bad press and reviews. One is thinking the faster P with Windows 7 will get better reviews, and therefore sales.

BTW I'm currently in Hong Kong and I've seen 1GB Ps on sale here with XP loaded, as well as the 2GB Vista machines. I've never seen the XP machines on sale in Europe.

  • why is there a big fart noise at the end of the video AHAHHA

  • A newer version before the year is out? ...damn.. I have ordered mine from the Japanese website... 2ghz 2gbram.. i am waiting for it to be made... I have to wait until OCT 22nd... do you know why they take so goddamn long?!!

  • As Windows 7 is not out yet, it has to ship with Vista. No doubt it will ship with 7 after the October release. I believe Sony is releasing a new version of the P before the year is out, no doubt with improved specifications.

It currently has to ship with Vista, because it's got 2GB of RAM. This makes it above the specifications as what's defined as a 'netbook' by Microsoft. However it's still an Atom CPU, and these don't perform that well with Vista.

  • I dont agree. I think that the VAIO P should've shipped with Windows 7. Shipping with windows xp would ruin the goal of the p series. Which is "aesthetics".

  • WMP in full screen is fine, even plays 720p and 1080p HD no frames dropped. However do NOT adjust the screen brightness when playing WMP full screen, it will BSOD. Adjust screen brightness before playing WMP. Obviously there is a driver bug which needs to be fixed here.

Flash video still needs to be optimised now. But from what I've seen Flash struggles playing full screen with Atom powered PCs in general. However with recent drivers, it's far better than what's seen in the video here.

  • what about wmp? does it also lagg in full screen mode?
