I understand not every single person in the state of Indiana liked Bob Knight and I'm not asking people to like him either, that is their choice and it makes no difference to me. I'm just saying that it is VERY hard to be an IU fan and NOT love Bob Knight.

My point is that not everybody in Indiana drools over Bob Knight. I have huge respect for the coach, and think he should go down in history as one of the greatest (for good reason), but not everybody is a fan. That's like asking a Yale student to say something nice about Harvard; it just won't happen, because the rivalry is too strong.

I grew up in Indiana, and I moved to Michigan State for school, and I have no interest on either side of the IU-Purdue rivalry. I'm just making an observation.

I don't care how much people hate Bob Knight. Those people are not from the state of Indiana. Growing up in Bloomington, there is basketball EVERYWHERE. Indiana is so passionate about the sport it is almost unfathomable. Knight had a hand in that and was a tough coach who got results. He was truly LOVED no matter how tough or crazy he was and he is a LEGEND because of it.
