Give Us Clean Hands (Chris Tomlin cover)

I've been reading through Isaiah and Jeremiah, and a lot of what can summed up about what was going on with Israel was idol worship. They're were worshiping man-made gods and turning their eyes away from their One, True God. this song reminds me of what i've been reading, that God wants me to worship Him and Him ALONE. not any other person or thing deserves my worship, but Him alone. it's interesting when you sit down and examine your own life (as the bible does tell us to examine ourselves). like, "where is most of my time, energy, efforts, cares, and devotion going to? what matters most to me right now?" is it your job? is it the tv? is it your spouse? is it your friends? is it your family? is it your friday and saturday nights hanging out? is it the internet? or is God taking first place in your heart? Israel was literally making carved images and worshiping the things their hands have made. we don't necessarily "bow down and worship" the things i listed previously, but when these things begin to consume our lives, and leave God on the back burner, it's time to stop and get back to Him. let's fix our eyes on Him, first and foremost! =D
