The lead Attorney General of the 50-state foreclosure investigation, Iowa's Tom Miller, told homeowners at risk of foreclosure today that there will be criminal prosecutions against big bank executives who broke the law.
Miller also agreed that principal reductions, loan modifications, and compensation for defrauded homeowners are necessary to clean up the mortgage mess created by the big banks.

To "bugilt" below: nobody said anything about 'jail' being THE answer.
But, are you saying that criminals (i.e., people who break the law) should NOT be punished; and should NOT be put in jail?
Then WHAT "justice" can be done to them? Sounds like you are one of the Republican-Leave-the-Criminals-Alone-and-it-will-work-itself-out people; or a Democrat who wants to just raise taxes and that will 'solve the worlds problems.'
Should we continue to "let them [skate]" and have a 'free pass?'

What a bunch of lies.

More lies and hot air. Record bonuses given to bankers this year with NO ACCOUNTABILITY for their record fraud. Who will speak for us?

Why do people still think jail is the answer for anything? Jail just creates an endless burden on society.
I agree that the bankers should be brought to justice, but punishment rarely works.
Maybe this isn't the time or place, but it would be a great instance to set an example.
