Thats not a hybrid k5la ,amtrak uses those. It's a K5HL.

Nice shots! Seems that NS 7512 has a hybrid K-5LA horn.
-
Well it does happen at Horeshoe Curve, theres usually an SD40-2 pair on every train up that grade.
-
Not really, theres not much grade out here. At least not any big enough to require a DPU helper at the end.

which line do u prefer to railfan? PITL or the HARL
NSrailfan1 2 years ago
Sorry Im getting back to you so late on this. But the HARL is good for mixed power, alot of EMD/Ex-CR power...while the PITL is good for high speed action and good locations. So I guess Im sticking with my home rails.

They ought to call the Pittsburgh Line Pennslyvania's race track.
Wouldn't you agree?
HyperActive7 3 years ago
That would make sense to me.
The PITL is a cool place to go visit. It makes me wish the HARL was like it in some spots.

What was on the first train? Looked like ballast hoppers?
HyndmanHelper 3 years ago
Youre correct. The first train was heading to a quarry to drop the train off.
