Clothes aren't the way to impress hipsters (though they certainly help). Alexa Chung needs to start name-dropping some indie bands. Look over the soundtrack of Nick & Norah or Juno. Read Diablo Cody's blog for that matter. If all else fails, make up some band names and pretend they're simply too underground and indie for anyone else to have heard of them. Remember, the indie band naming formula is article-adjective-unusual noun, i.e. "The New Pornographers", "The Polyphonic Spree", etc.

MTV: Alexa Chung will present the last of her current series, Its On With Alexa Chung, for MTV America next Thursday 17th December. She and the network have mutually decided to part ways on this project.

Maybe she'll return to the UK, and then making friends in the US won't be an issue.
