the response relating this more to ten!akagi is spot on, but it works just as well for the series because the spectre of ten hangs over it: for everything that happens in akagi, akagi himself is destined to become something so free and so beautiful in the end.

I couldn't think of better gambler's song. You'll keep saying to yourself "It's going to be alright- oh please let it be alright..." after every dice roll. And no matter how you try to look tough, it'll always end with just your wistful prayers. The fact that the lyrics repeat themselves helps to drive that point home, I think. It's pretty genius: it represents the human insanity, which is doing the same thing and expecting different results. But, as Furuido shows us- it'll always ends the same.
