well i had just heard it in a vid somewhere on here, but then again maybe it didn't break a 2nd time. but it is such a shame that it doesn't move as easy as when ed set it himself
I only knew of one bearing crush in the 80's. Other then that I've only heard they failed to maintain oiling it. When did the bearings crush the 2'nd time?
no, it was so perfectly ballanced, a child could move it with one finger. Unfortunately, the owners haven't kept it oiled and the ball bearings are rusting horribly, making it quite hard to turn =(
safe?

the bearings have collapsed twice due to rust and the incredible weight. they repaired it but Its all messed up now and you have to push it hard.

How is it turning? I remember hearing that the creator of that gate was one of the few people who could sucessfully move the gate.
