***THIS MOVIE WAS SHOT IN HD SO DON'T FORGET TO WATCH IT IN HIGH QUALITY!***
In the summer of 2007, I spent six weeks living in a remote village in Mbale, Uganda, shooting my own documentary.
While my aunt, a science teacher taught biology to Ugandan high school students, I shot video, interviewed people and immersed myself in a very different world.
During my time in Uganda, I cataloged footage of schools, families, religious practices, daily life and development throughout the various communities I visited.
The film looks at many issues facing communities like Mbale in the developing world: disease, ignorance and poverty.
It focuses mainly on the children and how their lives are improved through education and ravaged by the water and AIDS crisis.
After surviving a head-on collision, a bad case of malaria and the reality of a hospital stay in Africa, not to mention total culture shock, I came home to edit 11 hours of footage into a 22 minute documentary entitled "Uphill''.
I hope you all enjoy the film and if you would like to find out how you can help please visit www.kulanu.org

I am extremely impressed. I have to say you did a wonderful job. Not only at filming and editing, but at speaking and making people think. I bet they enjoyed you being there even though you were a white man. Beautiful work.

Will your movie brought tears to my eyes.
The harsh reality visuals, weaved into wisdom, hope and spirituality became one poignant anthem for the courage and strenghth of these people.
Well done!
