Roshan Ara Begum's (1917-1982) old 78 RPM records have preserved the matchless voice quality of the 'Malika-e-Mousiqui' - when she was at the peak of her skill, artistry and fluency. These tracks here have been transferred from the original discs. Roshan Ara Begum was one of the early superstars in the history of Hindustani classical music. She was the daughter of Ustad Abdul Huq Khan of Kirana, and was trained by her uncle the legendary Ustad Abdul Karim Khan (1872-1937) of whom she was one of the most outstanding and succesful disciple.
