This track has a different 'outlook' towards music that should be implemented more often! The music in the charts....not all, but a good percentage (now and in the past) follows too much of a pattern that's predictable and therefore boring. We need a lot more music like this to ...(now I'll get a load of abuse for telling the truth!). Do you understand my point?

@almondgrrl oh god, the nostalgia. MY dad's a big XTC fan and he made this OUR camping road trip cd. I've been hooked on it FOREVER.....glad to see other people see it the same way.

This is a beautiful swan song, but only if you count just the albums. Their last released song was "Where Did The Ordinary People Go?" which is also great in its own way.
-
This is like three songs in one, make simon cowell and his horrible cronies listen and tell him thats what music should sound like

@iwokeuphalfundressed I think you clearly don't get it. Maybe take a little time and let it digest. I would recommend starting with Wounded Horse first and working your way from there.

Best Swan Songs Ever:
1) This.
2)Everything else.

@iwokeuphalfundressed Very well sussed, as most of this was composed & created on computer. Some great songs, screwed up with the technology that wooed Andy at the time. Just stick a band in a studio and friggin' do the thing. ;-)

Lovely video thankyou - I love XTC and their music is very special to me. My mum went into labour on White Horse Hill (English Settlement) and my first real girlfriend 's stepdad jammed with them.
I've lived in Herts for nearly 20 years now and am probably the only person with an Aunt Sally set so I particularly like the reference to the game in this song - lovely stuff and makes me want to move back "home".

This disc -- especially with this song -- has brought me hours of joy, even as I think about cycles and decay and how I am no better at enduring than the next piece of organic material. I do simply love the songs on WASP...Stupidly Happy, the Man Who Murdered Love, We're All Light and, of course, the Wheel and the Maypole. It's become a road-trip standard for me and my kids (so despite my decay, my kids can keep the XTC love alive for a bit longer).
